Cooking Classes & Workshops
Sunday, 24th August:
Your culinary adventure begins! We board our flight from Auckland to the Chatham Islands at 5:00 PM, arriving around 8:00 PM. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your accommodation, where a late dinner awaits—enjoy one of the hotel’s signature dishes, Battered Chatham Island Blue Cod, served with chips and salad.
Monday, 25th August:
Our first cooking workshop kicks off at Admiral Gardens, where Sonya will lead a delightful cheese-making workshop using fresh Chatham Island milk. After crafting your own cheeses, you’ll sit down to savor your delicious creations, perfectly paired with a glass of wine.
Following the workshop, join our local guide for an exploration of Chatham Island, where you’ll discover its breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage. This experience promises to deepen your appreciation for the island’s unique ingredients and history while enjoying a perfect blend of culinary delight and adventure.
Tuesday, 26th & Wednesday 27th August:
Over the course of these two days we’re based at Kopi Bush Retreat – you’ll be under the expert tutelage of our guest chef, Rex Morgan, as you hone your culinary skills through hands-on workshops. Rex will guide you through creating a variety of dishes that celebrate the unique flavours of Chatham Island ingredients.
Once your delicious creations are complete, you’ll sit down to indulge in the meals you’ve prepared. Throughout the workshops, you’ll also have the opportunity to enjoy the cheese crafted in Sonya’s workshop, which Rex will expertly incorporate into your culinary creations, enhancing the flavours and showcasing the best of the island’s produce.
Thursday 28th August:
After a day of touring the island, we’re back at Admiral Gardens in the late afternoon where Lois Croon with take you through creating a beautiful three course dinner which showcases Chatham Island ingredients across all courses. Of course, being our farewell dinner enjoy a toast to our newfound culinary skills and enjoy the remains of your cheese, maybe with served with a Port.
Friday, 29h August:
On our final day, we enjoy a hearty breakfast before departing for the airport for our 10:00 AM flight back to Auckland, arriving at 12:00 PM.

If you are flying to or from Auckland to connect with your Air Chatham flights, please ensure you book flexible airfares as adverse weather conditions can alter Air Chatham’s flight departure times out of both Wellington and Chatham Island.

$5,600 per person – Forget Me Not Suites king or two single beds, ensuite with shower, lounge area, fully equipped kitchen, veranda with sea views, Sky TV and WiFi. 60 seconds walk to hotel.
Booking, cancellation & refunds
- A $1,000 deposit secures your place – once we receive your deposit, we will allocate your room
- If you choose to cancel your booking, your deposit is non-refundable unless we fill your place
- If we have to cancel we will give you a full refund or you can have your deposit transferred to any of our other events
- Full payment is due 6 weeks prior to the commencement date and is thereafter non-refundable in the event of your choosing to cancel, unless we are able to re-fill your place.
